Humpty Dumpty app for iPhone and iPad

Hacking out alone can be worrying for not only yourself, but also your loved ones. Humpty Dumpty aims to reduce this fear by attempting to actively seek out fall events using data recorded from your phones accelerometer. When a fall is detected and confirmed a friend of your choice is alerted via an SMS message containing the most exact location data obtainable.

Due to the varying nature of falls we cannot guarantee that all will be successfully identified, therefore Humpty Dumpty must be used in addition to normal practices, not instead of. For this reason a manual send location button is built into our application.

When a fall is detected a short period of inactivity is looked for which indicates a true fall rather than the actions of XC jumping, for example. Should this succeed then our Smart Cancel feature looks for movement which suggests that a false fall has been registered or that the rider is okay, and resets the alert. 10 seconds after an alert is initially detected a notification is sent to your device, which is accompanied by an alert sound lasting for the remainder of the 30 seconds countdown. It is therefore imperative that your device is on loud, and not in “Do Not Disturb” mode when using this application. If the alert is not dismissed a message is sent.
